I. General introduction to VSC.
1. Formation process
Southern Textile and Garment Corporation Limited - Vinatex (referred to as VSC) has undergone more than 6 years of establishment and development since 2016. This is not a long time, but it is enough for the company to have stability. stable in all aspects, contributing to local economic development, solving employment problems and creating stable incomes for nearly 3,000 workers in the western region, especially in the area: Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, Can Tho and neighboring provinces. Future orientation VSC will increasingly expand its scale, production capacity, source of goods, strategic customers and number of employees with a higher goal not only for profit but also for creating favorable conditions and lives. better lives for their own workers. The biggest mission of VSC is: "Quality, customer trust and happiness of employees are the guideline for striving".
To get to today's journey, let's take a look at the memorable milestones of the establishment of Southern Textile Corporation Limited - Vinatex, as follows:
- On March 30, 2016 Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group issued Resolution No. 05/NQ-TDDMVN on the establishment of Southern Textile and Garment Corporation - Vinatex;
- On April 21, 2016 Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City granted business registration certificate to Southern Textile and Garment Corporation Limited - Vinatex with charter capital of 520 billion VND, representative The legal representative is Mr. Pham Phu Cuong – Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director;
- On June 1, 2016 Representative of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group signed the handover minutes No.: 556A/BB-TDDMVN handing over Vinatex Bac Lieu garment factory; Minutes No: 557A/BB- TDDMVN handing over Vinatex Can Tho garment factory and Minutes handing over branch of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group – Vinatex Kien Giang garment factory to Southern Textile and Garment Corporation Limited – Vinatex ;
- On January 9, 2019, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Investment granted the certificate of enterprise registration to register for the second change for the Southern Textile and Garment Corporation Limited - Vinatex with the representative under the law is Mr. Nguyen Hung Quy – General Director;
The Corporation's office was initially headquartered on the 10th floor, 10 Nguyen Hue building, district 1, Ho Chi Minh City. However, from June 10, 2017, it was moved to the address at 04 Ben Nghe, Tan Thuan Dong ward, district 7, Ho Chi Minh City until now.
Besides, Southern Textile Corporation Limited - Vinatex also has 03 garment factories located in Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Can Tho provinces. The factories are located in convenient locations, the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to the factory is very short because it is easily connected through the highway system. Not only that, seaports and airports ensure the time of international freight.
2. Organizational structure of VSC
2.1. Corporation Office
- Launched on April 23, 2016 with 16 employees including:
+ Personnel Administration Department;
+ Accounting - finance department;
+ Planning - market department;
+ Technical Department.
By 2022, the number of employees of the Office is nearly 100 employees. By 02/2021, a Quality Management Department will be established to strictly control and promptly solve quality problems at the Corporation's factories.
The total number of employees including the Corporation's Office and 03 factories is now nearly 3000 people;
The total number of operating sewing lines is 44 out of 74 lines according to the design with a total of specialized machinery and equipment, currently for production is 3500.
It is expected that in the near future, enterprises will expand further in scale, production, and labor based on the growing source of goods and customers.

2.2. Factory
2.2.1. Vinatex Bac Lieu Garment Factory
- Vinatex Bac Lieu Garment Factory is located in Tra Kha Industrial Park, Ward 8, Bac Lieu City, Bac Lieu Province on an area of 42,480 m2, construction area is 12,630 m2 with a design capacity of 25 sewing lines. Total investment is 107.5 billion VND. The total number of employees under the project is 1400 people. Up to now, 16 lines have been put into operation, solving the job needs for more than 1000 employees, compared to 264 employees at the time of establishment in 2016.
- Besides the development of production line and labor compared to the time of establishment, Vinatex Bac Lieu Factory has also made efforts and evaluated its success to make goods for many customers in foreign markets such as: Primark, Walmart, Target, Decathlon, Luxottica,…
- In addition, Bac Lieu factory also has many other assessments and obtained many certificates such as: WRAP, SCAN, FCCA, GRS, OCS, SMETA, SLCP.
2.2.2. Vinatex Can Tho Garment Factory
- Vinatex Can Tho garment factory was built in Vinh Tien hamlet, Vinh Thanh town, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city on an area of 29,724m2, construction area is 11,857.9m2 with design capacity of 29 pass. The total investment is 111.5 billion VND, the total number of employees under the project is 1480 people. Up to now, there have been 16 operating lines with more than 950 employees, compared to 645 employees when it was established in 2016.
- Vinatex Can Tho factory is also a production unit for many domestic and foreign customers such as: Kohl's, Dick's, JCPenney, Decathlon, Walmart, Ruentex, Purple door, Costco, Target,....
- Can Tho factory also achieved many certifications on assessment such as: Wrap, FCCA, SCAN, SLCP, GMP, FIT (Fiber identification and traceability). In addition, as soon as the Better Work program expands its scope of activities to Can Tho in early 2022 (Better Work, a special cooperation program between the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the International Financial Organization ( IFC), a member of the World Bank Group (WBG), a program that connects workers, businesses and government entities with the aim of improving working conditions and promoting competitiveness in the workplace. garment industry). Vinatex Can Tho factory has also officially registered to participate in this program in 2022.
2.2.3. Vinatex Kien Giang Garment Factory.
- Vinatex Kien Giang garment factory is located at Lo Queo junction, An Hoa hamlet, Dinh An commune, Go Quao district, Kien Giang province. Formerly a branch of the group, from June 1, 2016, it was handed over to Southern Textile Corporation Limited - Vinatex with about 600 employees. Construction area is 11,857m2 on a total area of 23,994m2, the total number of employees under the project is 1369 people.
- Currently, the number of employees in Kien Giang is about 800 employees with about 12 operating lines out of a total of 20 according to design.
- Vinatex Kien Giang factory is a unit established before compared to the other 2 factories, so Kien Giang also has the advantage of experience and has also built a suitable strategic customer source such as: KT Group , Walmart, JCPenney, Primark, Decathlon,..
Summarizing after more than 6 years of establishment and development, the biggest success of VSC is having created a reputation with domestic and foreign customers in terms of production capacity, product quality, and at the same time building a team of strong, united towards higher goals. That was most evident during the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic at the end of 2020 and extremely complicated developments throughout 2021. At the time of the epidemic, VSC had only been established for 5 years, and was gradually enter the development trajectory. But not because of difficulties and crises, VSC backed down, under the direction of Chairman Mr. Pham Phu Cuong, the guidance of General Director - Mr. Nguyen Hung Quy and the Board of Directors successfully built a production model. : Natural – Safe 5K + D +F. This is one of the innovative models that help VSC both carry out stable business activities while ensuring safety and efficiency, and being able to adapt to the prolonged epidemic situation. Although there are many difficulties in the early stages when it is almost necessary to change lifestyle, habits, and ways of working. However, with the spirit of determination and solidarity, all employees of VSC have adapted and created a safe and effective working environment. Bring enterprises back to work as soon as possible.
