According to the General Department of Customs, in August 2022, Vietnam's import turnover reached 31.06 billion USD, up 1.7% over the previous month. In the first 8 months of the year, the total import value of the whole country reached 247.11 billion USD, up 13.7% (equivalent to 29.84 billion USD) over the same period in 2021. Total import value of the group of FDI enterprises reached 160.89 billion USD, up 13.9% over the same period last year, accounting for 65.1% of the total import value of the country.

The third largest import market is Taiwan (China) with a turnover of 16.1 billion USD. Computers, electronic products and components are still the most imported items with a value of 7.82 billion USD.
In 4th and 5th place are Japan and the US with a turnover of 15.98 billion USD and 9.92 billion USD respectively.
