Over the years, Vietnam's  textile industry  has always been successful in promoting exports to countries with export turnover growing over the years from 8-10%. However, in the domestic market, businesses have yet to dominate the home market and foreign fashion firms are holding the upper hand.

Being aware of this issue, domestic  enterprises  have continuously invested, improved techniques, enhanced prototyping to increase the added value on each product, meeting the increasing demands of consumers. .

According to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas), with a population of nearly 100 million people, the current consumption of textiles and clothing accounts for 5-6% of Vietnamese people's spending, equivalent to 3.5-4 billion. USD shows that this is  a  very potential market for textile enterprises.

With the determination to develop the domestic market , bring fashion brands to a large number of Vietnamese consumers, many fashion brands such as Paul Downer, DGC, S.PEARL, HeraDG, Forever Young ... have been approved by the Corporation. Duc Giang is brought to consumers and well received by the domestic market.

In addition to building confirmed brands, in 2018, Duc Giang Corporation developed the Veston tailor shop chain of Smartsuits Tailor Shop, based on the Do Luong Veston Garment Factory of German Corporation. Giang is transferred technology by Japanese Sumikin Group according to Japanese standards.

With a wide range of products, rich products, quality and prestige, Duc Giang Corporation is not only loved by individual consumers but also trusted by many large enterprises and organizations as home. providing office uniforms such as Vietcombank, State Treasury, Vietnam Flight Management Corporation, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank), An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank ...

Not only Duc Giang garment, a number of other textile enterprises such as Nha Be Garment Company, Viet Tien, May 10 ... also constantly invest in improving designs, expanding chains of product distribution stores to increase market share, improve the operational efficiency of the business to bring products directly to consumers.

Industry experts believe that Vietnam's fashion market is making positive changes, not only by breakthroughs in design but also in fashion thinking of customers.

Mr. Than Duc Viet, General Director of May 10 Corporation, said that in order to serve the needs of domestic consumers recently, May 10 Corporation offers many fashionable products in many styles and categories. Abundant with many materials, designs following the trend of Vietnamese and international fashion.

The products can include a number of high-end fashion products such as Eternity GrusZ, May10 M series, innovative ao dai or ECO product line as one of the new product lines that have their own characteristics, close to nature. However ... no harm to the environment and the user.

However, textile enterprises are also facing fierce competition from foreign competitors, especially the situation of illegally imported goods, counterfeit goods, fake goods and poor quality goods. Vietnamese products, branded goods and many consumers choose.

Not only that, many garment processing enterprises and domestic enterprises only invest in quantity, but have not paid attention to the quality and branding, so production costs are low and products are sold at cheaper prices. compared to branded businesses.

Mr. Than Duc Viet adds, to produce 100% Vietnamese products at affordable prices, can compete with imported goods, fake goods, fake goods, poor quality goods, it takes a while. Long and very difficult.

However, to conquer the Vietnamese market, "it is very difficult to do, because it cannot be lost at home" - Mr. Viet said.

Enterprises also said that the most difficult of the garment industry is raw materials, because up to 90% of fabric materials businesses have to import from abroad. Fabrics made in Vietnam are also more expensive than imported fabrics, especially from China and Korea, so many businesses have chosen imported fabrics as the main ones.

Therefore, Vietnamese textile and apparel products have a reputation for being domestically produced, but raw materials are mostly imported.

Facing these difficulties, many businesses think that in order to meet the domestic production with domestic raw materials, garment enterprises must actively find domestic raw materials, and functional branches should have policies to plan and encourage the textile and dyeing industry to develop raw material resources.

Because if there is no good material in the country, it is impossible to have high quality Vietnamese textile and garment to serve the Vietnamese people.

Mr. Truong Van Cam, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association also said that, although Vietnam has been very successful in exporting, doing business at home is very difficult. So, how to access the domestic market effectively is an urgent issue for businesses in the textile industry.

According to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, businesses need to build a distribution network strategy, especially small businesses are also more active in conquering consumers by investing in design, increasing product quality. products and price restructuring accordingly.

At the same time, businesses must standardize in the ideological viewpoint, service methods, catch up fashion trends ... to be responsible for the same products, in order to create customer trust.

Besides, it is necessary to build industrial zones with waste water treatment, to call for investment in the factory of yarn-weaving-dyeing to complete the chain of fabric material production process, serving the textile industry .

This will be the basis for the localization of fabric materials, the basis for the textile industry to convert production from processing to design and export of Vietnamese branded garments. More importantly, since then, domestic enterprises have been able to take full advantage of the trade agreements that Vietnam has signed.
