Many Denim brands, including Ateliers & Repairs, FAIRBLUE JEANS, Frank and Guess, have joined the Jeans Redesign-driven project by Make Fashion Circular, the UK-based Ellen MacArthur Foundation recently announced. The fund also expanded guidelines to allow fabric factories to participate in the project. The Jeans Redesign project was launched in July this year.

According to the press release of the Association, fabric factories must meet the guidelines of Jeans Redesign, must not discharge toxic chemicals, must check and report, not produce more than 0.025 cubic meters of water / yard.

The fabric factories involved in this project include China's Advance denim, Pakistan's Artistic Miliners and the US-based Cone Denim.

Early participants earlier this year are Arvind Limited, BESTSELLER, Boyish Jeans, C&A, GAP, Hirdaramani, H&M Group, HNST, Kipas, Lee, Mud Jeans, OUTERKNOWN, Reformation, Saitex,  Tommy Hilfiger .

The press release adds that many companies participating in Jeans Redesign express their desire for practical solutions to support the transition to a thriving fashion industry where all of our clothing is used longer. , made from safe and renewable materials, are reproduced.

The guidelines set minimum requirements for garment durability, material durability, recycling and traceability, and are based on the principles of a recirculating economy. Jeans made to these requirements are more durable, easily recyclable, and are made in a way that is better for the environment and the health of garment workers. The first redesigned Jeans products will go on sale in the fall of 2020.
